Determination of Fees

The fees paid to arbitrators can be substantial. While his current hourly rate for providing legal services is US$1,500, Ahsan does not dictate his fees to act as a sole arbitrator, and leaves it to the better judgement of the parties to determine his fees, depending on the facts of the dispute referred to him and the financial circumstances of the parties.

Ahsan does not charge anything for the assistance of tribunal secretaries. Since all hearings are virtual, costs are further reduced. Ahsan does not charge for organizing virtual arbitration hearings.

Minimum Institutional Fees

Arbitral institutions set arbitrator fees between minimum and maximum amounts. Ahsan has always asked arbitral institutions to set his arbitrator fees at the minimum amount permissible under the relevant arbitration rules.
